Food Assistance
The Ventura County Food Bank, FOOD Share, provides programs for healthy nutrition and education to children, families, and seniors. FOOD Share works in collaboration with county partners and local farmers to bring free fresh and healthy produce to your community. Through their Programs and 150 plus partner agencies, they provide food to over 74,500 hungry residents each month throughout Ventura County.
Community Market Distribution
Community Market Distribution is a monthly mobile delivery that provides a variety of fresh produce free of charge to low income families in Ventura County. In 2009, an average of 3,481 clients per month received an average of 24,101 pounds per month for a total of 289,215 pounds of fresh fruits and vegetables. Click here for Community Market locations. CalFresh
CalFresh – formerly known as food stamps and nationally known as SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) is a nutrition program available to all people who need and qualify for it. Eligibility is based on income, resources, and residency of household members. Good News! Farmers Markets in Ventura and Thousand Oaks are now accepting Cal Fresh EBT cards. Now with your EBT cards you can buy more fresh fruits, vegetables and healthy foods for your whole family.

Senior Nutrition Program
The Senior Nutrition Program provides home delivered frozen prepared meals and supplemental food for homebound seniors. For more information on the Senior Nutrition Program, contact the Ventura County Area Agency on Aging or one of the following Senior Nutrition Program coordinators:
